 Dr. Marc Baker

After completing his Bachelor of Science degree at Mount Allison University, Dr. Baker went on to New York Chiropractic College and completed his Chiropractic Doctorate in 2002. He also completed a Post Doctoral Rehabilitation Specialty and is a Fellow of the Chiropractic College of Physical and Occupational Rehabilitation. In addition, Dr. Baker has completed 300 hours in Acupuncture Training at McMaster Medical School.

Dr. Baker is one of two Chiropractors actively certified in Cox Flexion Distraction in Nova Scotia and was certified in 2007.  

Dr. Baker worked with the Canadian Forces at CFB Stadacona as the staff Chiropractor from 2005-2011.  He then decided to open The Disc Clinic in Musquodoboit Harbour where he is the Clinical Director and staff Chiropractor.  

Dr. Baker opened The Disc Clinic because of his professional interest and personal experience with disc problems of the spine.  He helps to manage all spinal conditions, as well as issues with other joints in the body including ankles, knees, hips, wrists, elbows and shoulders.  Doctor Bakers' conservative, gentle approach to chiropractic care has attracted patients from all over the Maritime Provinces.

 

 Beth Chase

For over ten years, Beth has been an avid practitioner of massage therapy, working in both spas and clinics in Halifax Regional Municipality.  While consistently growing and maintaining a loyal client following.  Beth continues to upgrade her knowledge of massage therapy through various educational pursuits.  Living in the Musquodoboit Valley, Beth is excited to have the opportunity to be working with her community.

"I believe that therapeutic massage is an essential part of your health care treatment plan," says Beth.
"Massage therapy can help alleviate soft tissue discomfort associated with injuries, stress or chronic pain.  
It's my job to design an achievable strategy that helps my clients treat their physical symptoms, while
also aiding them in finding balance in their day-to-day lives."

Clients of Beth receive a personalized assessment that provides a thorough, yet achievable method of treatment. Her goal is to help clients return to their normal activities with comfort and ease.    
 

 

 Nancy Kelly

Nancy is a graduate of the Kinesiology program at Dalhousie University.  After working as a Kinesiologist for several years she started her training to become a Pedorthist. In 2008, after completing a lengthy apprenticeship, Nancy successfully completed the College of Pedorthics of Canada exams and received the designation of Canadian Certified Pedorthist.

In addition to providing pedorthic services at The Disc Clinic, Nancy is the Clinic Manager.

Nancy also actively volunteers within her profession and held a Director position on the Board of Directors for the Pedorthic Association of Canada from 2010 - 2013.

An Eastern Shore native, Nancy is pleased to be serving the community in and around Musquodoboit Harbour and to be part of the team of health care professionals at The Disc Clinic.

 Peter Murray

 Peter Murray, Registered Physiotherapist
Peter Murray graduated from Dalhousie University's Master of Science in Physiotherapy program in 2013. After graduating he has worked in Charlottetown, PEI for the past 3 years. During that time Peter has taken a variety of courses including acupuncture, dry needling, the selective functional movement assessment, vestibular therapy and concussion management. 

Peter has an interest in the sports realm of physiotherapy and also likes participating in most sports, which makes him active with competitive and recreational sports within the physiotherapst role and as a player. Throughout his university degrees and afterwards he has had various opportunities to work with multiple sports teams and at different sports events; including working with the Charlottetown Major Midget hockey team and the Island Storm basketball year of the NBL.. 

Peter looks forward to starting this new chapter at The Disc Clinic and helping his clients get back to whatever it is they enjoy doing.

 
 

 Deborah Leger

Working in both the Musquodoboit Harbour and Dartmouth clinics gives Debbie the best of both worlds. As a relative newcomer to the Eastern Shore, she is enjoying meeting new people and learning more about her community and in Dartmouth she is back in her old neighbourhood and seeing familiar faces.
 
Always up for a challenge, she returned to school when her kids were teenagers to pursue her degree in Business Administration from Mount Saint Vincent University and returned to the workforce when they were finished school themselves.
 
When not at work, she can be found in the kitchen trying a new recipe, curled up with a cup of tea and a book or spending time with her husband and their goofy dachshunds.
 

 Michele Raleigh

Michele Raleigh is a graduate of Business Administration from Acadia University. Working and living across Canada and the US, she has returned home to Nova Scotia to enjoy life on the Eastern Shore with her husband, Greg and fur-baby, Beau (Weimaraner).

Michele first came to The Disc Clinic as a patient and liked it so much she joined the team as part time receptionist. 

In addition to her passion for Green Bay Packer football, she is an avid knitter, beachcomber and part of the Women on Wheels cycling movement in Musquodoboit Harbour. 
 
 
 

 Emily Hudson

Emily is a Medical Office Administration graduate. She attended Maritime Business College and graduated in 2017. She has lived on the Eastern Shore for almost 15 years and has spent a lot of time on the Eastern Shore before that, visiting family.

Emily always had an interest in working in the medical field and has always enjoyed working with the public. Therefore, when the job opportunity came up at The Disc Clinic, she just couldn’t say no because it was giving her the best of both worlds. 

When not working at The Disc Clinic, Emily can be found spending time with her dog Rosie, her cat Pepper and her friends and family. You may also find her playing her favourite sport, bowling. 
 
 
 

  Carina Smith

 Carina Smith, Registered Massage Therapist
Carina Smith is a 2014 Graduate of ITC Northumberland College here in Halifax. While in school she took extra courses in myofascial therapies, pregnancy treatment and reflexology.
She also has an interest in infant and child massage.
 
Carina's schooling taught her how to manage many different conditions and the stages of healing associated with various injuries. Her most recent interest and continuing education has consisted of certification involving the Tempero-Mandibular joints (TMJ).
 
She is a proficient and qualified massage therapist and looks forward to working with the team at The Disc Clinic. 
 
 

  Emma DeWitt

Emma DeWitt, Physiotherapist

Emma DeWitt graduated from Dalhousie University School of Physiotherapy in 2005. She has since completed post-graduate courses in manual and manipulative therapies, acupuncture and active isolated stretching. Since graduation Emma has worked in private practice clinics in Bridgewater and Dartmouth Nova Scotia. She is excited to join the team at The Disc Clinic.

"I’ve built my career and furthered my education to better understand the conditions that clients present with. I strive to always be empathetic and caring throughout all interactions with clients. I am passionate about educating clients and collaborating in a ‘team’ approach to produce the best outcome possible.”

Besides chasing around her two young children, Emma is a regular runner, participating in several half and full marathons and a ultra marathon over the past few years.

  Dr. Chelsea Warner

Dr. Chelsea Warner

Dr. Chelsea Warner graduated from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a minor in Psychology. She also completed a certificate in Disability Management before going onto CMCC in Toronto to become a chiropractor. During that time, she became certified in Active Release Techniques, Mental Health First Aid and Acupuncture from the McMaster Medical School. Dr. Chelsea also has experience working with sports teams and has a special interest in neck pain, headaches, TMJ disorders and upper limb conditions. Coming from an active background, she has always had an interest in movement, health and rehabilitation, but it was her experience as a patient that motivated her to become a chiropractor. She is passionate about helping people and getting them back to optimal functioning. Outside of the clinic, you can find her enjoying the outdoors with the dog or watching the game.

Erin Whynot is a second year Business Administration student at Nova Scotia Community College.
 
When she is not on the keyboard or in class, she is most likely to be found exploring Halifax, practicing yoga or cooking.
 
Once she completes her diploma at NSCC, she intends to do some travelling and continue her education at Saint Mary's University. 

 

 Connie Janssen

Connie was born and raised right here in Dartmouth. Her Accounting/Bookkeeping education includes the NSCC - Dartmouth, Henson College (DAL), and the Canadian Payroll Association. She has been making a difference in various offices for the last 30 years.
 
This is Connie’s first time to work in the medical field and she loves it! The patients and co-workers are terrific, and she enjoys coming in to work every day.
 
Connie has been married over 30 years, with two children, and one (soon to be two!) grandsons that she enjoys spending time with. She loves to walk, entertain, and especially enjoys hosting her family’s annual Ugly Christmas Sweater Party. 

 

Proudly serving  the people of Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia's Eastern Shore, and surrounding areas, The Disc Clinic was opened in 2011 to provide alternate health care services to our community. We offer our clients relief from pain and an enhanced sense of health and wellness through chiropractic and massage therapies, physiotherapy, orthotic services and naturopathic medicine.
